Guidelines for Selecting IAM Tools & Technology [PRESENTATION]

Integrated Asset Modelling (IAM) is now a standard means of modelling and simulating entire oil and gas assets for optimization purposes. Despite the variety of IAM tools and approaches that are now publicly available, personnel and operators tend to be locked in to a particular tool or approach based on what they are used to. This ends up being ineffective as the various tools and approaches have their strengths and weaknesses and should therefore be selected based on an understanding of what the project requires and the strengths and weaknesses of each tool or approach.

Based on Eta’s extensive experience of developing, building, benchmarking, simulating, analysing and applying integrated asset models, key guidelines for selecting the best integrated asset modelling tools for the job are presented.
